NAMASTE!

My name is Shyam Manohar!

First off, welcome to my personal blog!

Most people don’t get my first name right, especially if they aren’t from India. The name is spelt as ‘Sham’, where the ‘a’ sounds exactly like the ‘a’ at the end of ‘America’. The ‘y’ remains silent.

So where do I begin?

I’m from India and born in the city of Bangalore, or as they now call it, ‘Bengaluru’. This is one of the greatest cities in the entire country and I simply love this place!

My life has been a very interesting and turbulent journey. I sometimes wish that I could have had a ‘normal’ childhood but then again, it didn’t really work out that way. Interestingly and strangely enough, it somehow led me to a path in life that I quite didn’t expect. I could talk much about the early years of my life, a great deal of which I’ve shared in my blog posts.

Through the course of these few years, I’ve learnt a great deal about life, which I thought of sharing with the rest of the world. Maybe someone out there will be able to make good use of this stuff in their own life. And that was essentially why I started this blog.

You know, this was actually the third blog that I started; the first one is now long gone, while the other one, Confusedinlife.com is still active. You can know more about that site in the ‘New Here?’ section on that site.

Coming back to this site, there is more to this site than just motivational and self-help stuff. Ever since I was in school, I have had a great deal of interest in what they called ‘Social Studies’, which included History, Civics and Geography. In addition to this, I’m also an environmentalist and feel that we’ve treated the earth like a garbage dump (and in many ways still do). Naturally, I’ve also shared my views on issues related to these subjects as well.

One other thing to add here is that many of the posts on this site are actually the remnants of the other site, which I transferred to this one. Shyammanohar.com was originally meant for the philanthropic stuff that I wanted to share, while the self-help stuff was on another blog. But for a bunch of different reasons, I decided to close the other blog and transfer the contents to this one.

If you are wondering where to start with the website, there are actually two sections, namely ‘Philanthropy’ and ‘Self-Improvement’. I’ve not written the posts under either of the sections in any ‘order’; so feel free to read the posts in any order you want. As for the ‘self-improvement’ part, I would suggest that you read these few posts before anything else, as they can give you a foundation to base everything else on.

  1. Everything Wrong In Your Life Is YOUR Fault! – Part I
  2. Everything Wrong In Your Life Is YOUR Fault! – Part II
  3. Your Mindset Can Make Or Break You
  4. Nobody Gives A Damn About You!
  5. How To Stop A Runaway Train

Last but not the least, I am busy with numerous philanthropic projects, which I hope and pray will make a difference in the world. Maybe they will. Then again, maybe they won’t … I’ll just have to wait and see. One of them is already active, which is public speaking, which you can read more about here.

So I guess that’s about it!

I hope that you enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoyed creating it!

GOOD LUCK!
